COBE Falcons Crowned 2010 Intramurals Champs
The College of Business Education Falcons made its dominance felt during the Northwestern University 2010 Intramurals when it devoured all of its opponents in their quest for the over-all championship title last September 14-17, 2010. Garnering a total of 271.5, the Falcons proved that they have the hardest claw when they grasped every sporting event from basketball to softball and swimming.

The CAHS Nightingales garnered second place, while the combined efforts of the CAS and COME Hawks placed third. The joint forces of the CTE and CEAT Eagles landed in fourth place. The CCJE Wildbats rallied for the fifth place.

Aside from sports events, there was also a display of wits and talents in the Literary and Musical Competition which included contests in essay writing, extemporaneous speech, oration, quiz show, folk dance, interpretative dance, ballroom dancing, vocal solo and duet.

In an interview, Dr. Chita Gonzales, Dean of COBE, said "I'm overwhelmed because we aimed for the championship title this year and got it. I'm so proud that with the cooperation of the faculty members, employees, and students of COBE we were able to bring home the bacon."

The 2010 NWU Intramurals had for its theme, The Rise of the Champions. This event aimed not only to promote sportsmanship, solidarity and camaraderie but also to aspire to soar for greater and grander heights.
