NWU supports TOUR OF HOPE 2011
True to its commitment in raising awareness on cervical cancer prevention, Bravehearts in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline and Team David's Salon initiated the TOUR OF HOPE 2011 "500: Going the Xtra Mile Against Cervical Cancer.

" Bikers joined the 5-day tour from Manila to Laoag City (NWU) in order to help raise funds for the groups’ vaccination drives against the second most common female cancer worldwide.

Advocates of the said tour conducted its Cervical Cancer Awareness Seminar in our University last June 1 at the New Media Hall, Paramedics Building. Abbygale Arenas de Leon, the current president of Bravehearts explained the rationale for the organization as well as this years campaign which aims to vaccinate 500 women.
Apart from the seminar, was the free vaccine given to 15 NWU employees.

Introduced in 2008, the TOUR OF HOPE has become Braveheart's annual fund-raising event and an opportunity to give lectures for cervical cancer in the municipalities/cities the tour passes.
