In celebration of DENR's Environment Month, the university was recently awarded the 2011 Likas Yaman for the Most Outstanding University Environmental Outreach Project at Oasis Country Resort, San Fernando City, La Union.
With the joint efforts of NWU-NSTP/CWTS/LTS/Naval ROTC through the direct supervision of NSTP Coordinator Rodolfo Pingao, their entry was recognized for implementing various environmental outreach projects devoted to improve health, sanitation, education and environmental protection.

Prior to the honor they brought to the university, Ms. Noemi A.
