Northwestern University employees celebrate a Virtual Christmas Party
Northwestern University employees celebrated their Christmas party on December 19, 2020. With everything different in 2020—from working from home to having meetings and gatherings through social media platforms—the party was no exception, as it was held online via the Zoom application.
The IPODD Office organized the program. Part of the program was having the different divisions of the university create vlogs on how to bake fruit cake. The five divisions were The Executive Office, The Administration, The Academic Division, The BED/RCEAD and the Finance and Support group. The teams presented their fruit cake masterpieces to the judges: Atty. Ferdinand Nicolas, Dr. Chita Gonzales, Mr. Karl Lenin Benigno, Ms. Fe Pungtilan and Mr. Randy Fernandez.
In the afternoon, employees had the chance to win prizes via raffle draws. Hosted by Mr. Yani Rapada, the Zoom meet also featured a “Christmas mask” contest. What followed was the dance presentation of the Christmas Jingle Music video by the employees, per office. Also announced was the winner of the best fruit cake—the Administration team—whose masterpiece impressed the eyes and taste buds of the five judges.
The event brought much-needed fun to everyone and showed that, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the spirit of Christmas was still present.
