BJMP, SAF Laoag collaborate with NWU-CCJE
In celebration of Penology Profession Day, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) partnered with Laoag City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Special Action Force (SAF) for seminars on Penology and Basic Life Support to Levels II and III BS Criminology students on March 10, 2023 at the New Media Hall, Ben A. Nicolas Building.
Prison Inspector Shiela Marie D. Sapaden of BJMP-Laoag City gave a presentation outlining the agency’s key programs and requirements for jail officers.
SAF – Laoag City organized a session on basic life support under the direction of Police Captain Ronn Lee C. Talite. It emphasized the importance of first aid in the world of law enforcement.
At the University Pool and Mock Boat area, the same organization also prepared a lecture and hands-on demonstration on water safety and survival.
The Penology Profession Day is one of the programs of the BJMP to give students an overview of the organization and invite future graduates to become part of the said agency.
“This is an avenue to give proper guidance to students regarding the recruitment requirements and processes to ensure greater chance of employment,” said Dr. Jonah Badua, CCJE Dean.
