Northwesternian student journalists win in 18th LHEPC

Two Northwesternian editors—Hessen Noreen Castillo and Vivian Casil—won in the recently concluded Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference held last March 6-9, 2019, at Villa Alfredo Resort, Brgy Baliti, San Fernando, Pampanga. Castillo won 2nd place in News Writing, 3rd place in Editorial Writing and 5th place in Opinion Writing (English Category), while Casil won 8th place in Feature Writing (Filipino Category). Castillo also won the highest individual pointer award of the whole event, having won three places.

Both Castillio and Casil are editors of The Review, the official publication of Northwestern University, with Ms. Juliet Pascual as their trainer.

Nearly 850 journalists from over 90 campus publications from various colleges and universities in Luzon participated in the said event. These student-journalists competed in different journalism events like News Writing, Feature Writing, Editorial Writing, Layouting, Copyreading, Developmental Communication and Photojournalism.
