NWU Conducts Peace and Development Forum
Northwestern University conducted the Peace and Development Forum on Saturday, February 8, at the Aquino Multi-Purpose Center (Student Center). The event had more than a thousand in attendance, comprising students, faculty members, national and local government representatives, Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel.
The Peace and Development Forum is a collaboration between the Department of National Defense (DND), the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, Kapisanan ng Mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), Northwestern University, and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA). The forum aimed at informing the participants of the various programs of the government, as well as educating the youth, about the dangers of joining subversive organizations.
The forum was organized and facilitated by the Philippine Air Force. Lt. Col. Alan Macatingrao, commander of the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 1 and Maj. Pedro Dacanay Jr., of the 24th Infantry Battalion, were among the top-ranking resource speakers of the event.
