Dir. Vanesa Lee-Calixto is Guest of Honor for NWU 89th Commencement Exercises
Vanesa Lee-Calixto, Director for Fund Generation and Business Development of the Philippine Red Cross, is the Guest of Honor and Commencement Speaker for Northwestern University’s 89th Commencement Exercises.
Mrs. Calixto graduated as a Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Political Science from De La Salle University-Manila in 2011, and is currently completing her Master’s program in Global Affairs concentrating on International Development and Humanitarian Assistance, in New York University.
Although Mrs. Calixto is South Korean, she considers herself more of a Filipina, having lived in the Philippines for more than 26 years, and having married a Filipino.
She started her career straight out of college as the Executive Assistant of Senator Richard J. Gordon, who is also the Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross. She assisted the chairman in all Red Cross activities, including handling disaster management, relief distributions and operations, as well as all humanitarian events headed by the Philippine Red Cross in partnership with the different Red Cross National Societies, International Federation and International Committee of the Red Cross Movement in the Philippines.
