Northwestern University Supreme Student Council President Jezreel Larry Caunca is among the 26 Philippine Youth Ambassadors of Goodwill for the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) Youth Conference 2022.
Caunca is a 4th year BA Political Science student under the NWU Social Sciences and Humanities Department, College of Arts and Sciences.
SSEAYP 2022 aims to deepen the relationship and mutual understanding among the youth leaders of ASEAN Member States and Japan by participating in various exchange activities, developing the participants’ leadership skills and honing their practical skills.
With the theme, “What Youth can do in the new era of cooperation towards the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation,” the Participating Youth (PY) are expected to widen their knowledge of the global agenda and discuss how they can contribute to achieving the global goals (SDGs) through Discussion Groups and Peer Learning Sessions (PLS). The PLS will be focused on the expertise, experiences, and motivational tales from the young organizers’ home nations. PLS aims to develop workshop and discussion facilitation skills, presentation, and project management abilities.
“I am humbled by this opportunity to represent Northwestern University internationally. SSYEAP is one of the most prestigious cultural exchange programs in the world and I am grateful to NWU for supporting me in this program.”, Caunca said.
