Northwestern University Joins Region 1 HEIs in Internationalization Commitment at FLAIR 2023
Northwestern University, together with other higher education institutions in Region 1, committed to internationalization during the “Filipino Leaders in Advancing Internationalization 2023” (FLAIR) conference. This was a significant step towards enhancing global recognition and collaboration. The event, organized by CHED RO1 (Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 1), took place at the University of Northern Philippines on October 18, 2023.
FLAIR, an initiative spearheaded by CHED RO1, aims to assist Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in enhancing their international rankings. This includes prestigious rankings such as the Wuri Ranking, Quacquarelli Symonds Ratings, Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, and similar global assessment systems.
Northwestern University was represented by Beatriz Cravalho, the Quality Assurance and Compliance (QAC) director, on behalf of NWU’s President, Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas. During the event, Ms. Cravalho officially signed the commitment form, underscoring Northwestern University’s dedication to fostering international collaboration and furthering the institution’s global academic standing.
This commitment by Northwestern University and the Region 1 HEIs at FLAIR 2023 reflects a shared vision to strengthen ties with international counterparts, promote academic excellence, and establish a prominent presence on the global stage. The move underscores the continuous efforts of these institutions to ensure the highest quality education and research opportunities for their students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
